Horseshoe Bay Trip

The past two weekends we spent at Horseshoe Bay. My Aunt Gayla lives down there and my Grandma and Aunt Sandy flew in from California to see everybody. The first weekend just my mom and I and the kids went. We went down there because we were going to bring Grandma and Sandy back to Abilene for a week. The next weekend everyone went including husbands and Sam and Lucy also came in. It was great to get to see everyone. We only see my mom's family from California about once a year so it is always a treat. They are some neat ladies. My mom has 3 sisters and a brother so not everyone got to come. My cousin Michelle and her kids were there along with my cousin Maury and his kids. Here are some pictures:

(Each sibling in my mom's family is spaced 5 years apart yet they all look so young. My Aunt Gayla is 67 and my Aunt Sandy is 62. My mom is 52. They definitely don't look it. All of them try to stay young)

Birthday, Fathers Day and Jumpin around!

Last week was my birthday. I had such a great day. Meredith watched my kids while my mom took me to lunch at a tea room. I love me some chicken salad! Thanks Meredith for watching the kids. Then that night John and I went to eat at a new Italian restaurant which was wonderful and then went to see Made of Honor. It was pretty good. Just your typical romantic comedy but I really enjoyed it. John sent me on a scavenger hunt through the house that led me to all sorts of goodies one of them being a manicure and pedicure gift certificate. He said my big gift was on Monday. Turns out his gift was to stay home from work and keep the kids while I had a day to myself shopping! It was so much fun and I was so surprised. That was the best gift ever. He really did way too much and I told him that this counts for the next 3 birthdays. :)

Speaking of my wonderful husband, Happy Fathers Day to him. He is without a doubt one of the most giving people I have ever met. He is such a giving father. The minute he walks through that door at home he is into his job as a daddy 100%. I definitely could not do it without him and am grateful for all of his hard work. What a blessing he is to me and these kids. They have no idea how blessed they are to be his children.

At the zoo with Kate Christmas morning "out of control hair" Like father like son!

Today we went to a jump around house with Meredith and Dani and their kids. It was so much fun! We are planning on going there a lot more this summer.

Fun in the Sun

I decided to take some pictures of the kids playing outside a few days ago. Sorry they have no clothes on. They were in and out of our little blow up pool.

Mischievous grins

Now some black and whites:

Kate playing peek a boo

Luke swinging on his stomach
I call these next pictures "Kate's modelling session" They cracked me up because the wind was blowing and her poses looked so funny and glamorous. She already has her first set of glamour shots!

This picture was all I could get of them together. I don't know if I will ever get a good shot of them together. They just look at me like "yeah right!"

Slip n Slide

Friday night we went over to John's parent's house and had a cook out with the whole family. They had a slip n slide and a sprinkler. The kids loved it and we all enjoyed watching Aunt Tara throw them down the slip n slide!

Even Daddy took a turn!

Kate is really into scrunching her nose when she smiles now so it is hard to get a real smile picture. She wasn't all that crazy about the sprinkler spraying her with water. Maybe she will warm up to the idea by the end of summer.

Girls Weekend!

I had a great weekend with my college teammates. We went to Granbury and stayed at Sara's in-laws' house. It was super nice of them to let us take over their house. We all felt like we were at a resort! The whole time we just sat around talking and laying out at the pool. John was super dad and kept the kids all weekend which was awesome of him to do that. I really needed a get away! These girls are my friends for life and I am so blessed by their friendships. We are already planning our 5 year reunion for next year. The countdown begins!

Thank you Shara!

Thank you so much, Shara, for my new blog design. I didn't even tell her what I wanted she was just so creative and came up with it herself! Maybe this will inspire me to update more. Thank you sooo soooo much!

Catching up is hard to do!

Well, I took a little time off from blogging. I was having problems with uploading pictures and just didn't know if I wanted to blog anymore. After some persuasion from friends, I decided to get back in the game. By the way Shara, I would love a blog makeover! Thanks for the offer! So here is a little catching up:
In March we went to Gruene, TX for a wedding with my family. We left the kids at home and all stayed at a bed and breakfast that was right next to Gruene Hall. We had a great time and hope to go back again someday.

Next was Kate's birthday:

Here are some random pictures of the kids:

John's sister graduated from A&M so we went to that last weekend. We are so proud of her.

I am getting really excited about this summer. Although I am sad that Luke won't have Mother's Day out, I think we will have lots of fun being outside and getting to do some different things. The kids are really keeping me busy. Luke will be 3 in July and Kate is 14 months old so they are now both on the move but it makes it so fun. They both love to play outside so I am sure that is where we will be most of the summer!

That about sums it up. That fills in the two months I have been missing. Hopefully I will become a better blogger and have some fun stuff to blog about this summer!
