A little Jittery today

So, this morning I was about to leave the house and I went to put something up in Kate's closet and I looked down and thought, "We don't have a toy snake." Second thought "Maybe Maddox brought it and left it here after Homecoming." Third thought, "That snake is moving!!!!!" So I immediately sprint to get my phone and call John because there is no way I am touching that thing. So he drives home from work. Meanwhile I am standing at the closet and the snake is nowhere in sight but I am making sure the snake is not going anywhere. John gets home and starts moving boxes and discovers the snake behind boxes. It is just a garden snake but still!!!! So the snake starts toward us really fast and I start screaming at the top of my lungs, "Don't let it crawl under the bed!!!!" So John steps on it and I go to the kitchen to find some kitchen tongs and a donut box to put it in. John just used the tongs and then took it outside. It was dead. I hate the feeling that there was a snake in the house and I have no idea how it got there. Now everywhere I look I think there is a snake lurking. It might be a little harder to get to sleep tonight.

Mother/Son Olympic Games

We were trying to get a picture of just Luke and I but Kate insisted on being in the picture also. I am glad she did. :)
Gearing up for competition
Luke with the parachute

I can't believe I am keeping up with my blogging as much as I have been. I guess I just realized that this is as close to a scrapbook as I will ever get and I need to stay on top of it. This past weekend Luke and I had a mother son olympic night at church. We were the yellow team so we had to wear yellow. I didn't have a yellow shirt but I did have some old Siggie PJ pants so that was good enough. Luke was a little young for some of the events but he did pretty good. It was just hard sometimes to keep his attention for very long. We had a great time and got to meet some new people.
In other news, Kate moved to a big girl bed this weekend. I was a little sad taking down the crib. Seems like she wasn't in it for very long. Not long enough. :( Anyways, she is doing great in her bed and still has not figured out that she has the option of escaping so hopefully it will stay that way for awhile.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch with our friends the Mosely's. The kids had a lot of fun and were just running around like crazy. Too bad I only got one decent picture and Kate kind of has a funny look on her face. I can't hardly get Kate to even look up for a second.
Jaxon and Luke on the tractor. Luke loves tractors and always talks about going out to Coach's (that is my dad's grandpa name) to get on the tractor and call the cows. I always hope that he loves to do that and that it will be a special thing between him and my dad.

Kate's determined look on her face to pick up the pumpkin. I was such a mean mom. I kept telling her to try and pick up the pumpkin because that was the only way should would half way look up. Needless to say she was unsuccessful at picking up the pumpkins.

These next pictures make me laugh out loud. We tried to get a group picture and this is all I got.

Even though the pics didn't quite turn out, we had a good time and got some punkins (as Luke calls them) to take home.

Fun weekend

This weekend was my grandparents 60th anniversary so I thought I might put some cute pictures from the weekend on here. All of our family came in and we ate at Perini's. Yum! It was really good yet really stressful. Kids at a restaurant just wear me out. I know someday it will get easier but for now I guess I will have to settle for interrupted meals taking trips to the bathroom for spankings and fun things like that. My sister in law Lucy took most of these pictures. Thanks Lucy. She is also the one that said I need to blog a little more so she could see more pics so this is for you, Lucy! :)
These are pictures from last night. The kids were being silly so I tried to capture it on camera. Please excuse the apple in Luke's mouth.

These pictures Lucy took at my parents house. I just love them because they show how much Luke loves his guitar. He is literally obsessed. It is the first thing he wants in the morning and he could play it all day.

This is my family at Perini's. They are so much fun. I laugh so much when I am around them. When I laugh hard, tears automatically start streaming down my face and I felt like I laughed that hard all weekend. I was shocked that we got a great family picture on the first try!
Sam being Sam (Luke adores him)
My 96 year old Great Grandmother being silly. She is something else!
In other news, we are enjoying our Tuesday Thursday school. Both of the kids are in it and I am teaching in the one year old class. I love it and really look forward to school days. Fall is on its way and I am super excited about all the holidays coming up!

Lucy's Pictures

A few months ago we went to see my brother Sam and his wife Lucy. We took the kids to a park in their neighborhood and Lucy took some great pictures. She just now emailed me a few and I think she did such a great job. It is crazy to see how Kate's hair has changed in that short amount of time. Not much but still enough to notice. :)

My Baby Girl

My friend Lindsey gave me a CD last night with pictures that she took when she came to visit Kate in the hospital right after she was born. All of the pictures just make my heart melt. There is nothing like the precious face of a newborn sleeping. It is crazy to see how much Kate has changed in this short time.

Kate blesses my life every day. We were so excited to have a baby girl and get to experience all things girly. I wasn't sure if I could do it since I had Luke first and boy was all I knew. But, so far it has been so much fun raising a girl. Just wanted to post a few of the pictures from the CD. Thanks Lindsey!

You may be wondering why she is wearing a gymnastics leotard in the next few pictures. I found her one at a garage sale and so I tried it on her today. It was a little big but still pretty cute. She gave me some cute poses.
Look at those chunky legs!

This is Kate's new trick. She likes to wink. Pretty impressive for a 17 month old!

This is her other obsession. Her Belly Button. She is trying to put her finger in her belly button but she can't because of her leotard. I am not kidding when I say I think it is a security object. Hopefully she won't take that one to Kindergarten!
